WSNs, IoT, Blockchain, Big Data, and Predictive Analytics for Real-time Data Monitoring, Processing and Distributed Control

Getting Inspired from Natural and Biological Principles to enable the Development of Cyber-Physical Systems

Aims and objectives

The  projects focus on various aspects of design and performance evaluation as well as on analysis of distributed and adaptive systems. The main objective (and common thread) is to develop adaptive algorithms and approaches in distributed environments, taking benefit of the systematic integration of adaptive/context-driven feedback control techniques with application in different domains, such ITS, Energy efficiency, Smart buildings, Micro-grid systems, Electro-mobility, and Smart agriculture.

R&D Projects

The main aim of SELFSERV project was to develop a novel software platform for the definition of diabetes telecare services. It addresses the needs of the Moroccan diabetic patients and hooking into the self-serving "wells" of the Moroccan societies and…

The main idea behind this project was to develop a smart building energy management system using IoT and Big Data technologies. More precisely, we aimed to develop a holistic platform for big data streams acquisition and processing using real-time machine…

Reducing energy consumption and subsequently CO2 emissions is necessary in key sectors of the economy such as energy, buildings and construction, in the public sector, in cities and urban areas. Three major aspects can be considered for reducing energy consumption…

The main aim of this project was to develop a holistic platform that integrates smart microgrids and renewable energy production/storage towards energy efficient buildings. Three major research issues were addressed in order to archive the project’s objectives: i) Renewable energy…

The team has participated to the Solar Decathlon Africa (SDA) 2019, which was held in Ben Guerir from 21st August to 27th September 2019, together with other members from the International University of Rabat (UIR), the Technische Hochschule Lübeck (THL)…

Morocco has been leading an ambitious sustainable development strategy for the past decade, particularly in the energy sector. This ambition is manifested by the deployment of renewable energy infrastructures, and recently the electric vehicles charging stations and open and shared…

This project concerns the development of smart microgrids based on RES to support the sustainable development of the three sectors: energy, water and agriculture. The main aim is to adapt the system to the load profile and storage strategies of…
