BLFARM is a private and irrigated farm with an area of 5 hectares. It is located in Saniat Berguig in Sidi Bennour Province of the Casablanca-Settat region (32.714163, -8.6110714). It is distanced by 25.6 km from Sidi Bennour and 75.5 km from El Jadida. The region is characterized by a hot-summer Mediterranean climate with strong N and NE winds. The ambient temperature of Saniat Berguig spans across values from 13.3°C (corresponding to January) to 25°C (which corresponds to August). The farms in this region follow an extensive cultivation (sugar beet, wheat, market garden produce) and cattle breeding of varieties imported from Europe mainly for milk and meat production.

BLFARM represents traditional and family-driven farms; it is irrigated using a pumping system, which operates on power supplied from the national electric grid. The pumping system draws water from the well (about 50 m depth). The groundwater is directly pumped and redirected to a sprinkler irrigation system while no storage tank is used.

All the above-mentioned features and characteristics make BLFARM an ideal field operational test site in the region.
