Smart Transportation

The Living Lab includes a Renault Twizy electric vehicle that serves as an experimental platform for developing and validating advanced energy management solutions adapted to Moroccan driving conditions. The vehicle is instrumented to support research on energy consumption modeling, battery monitoring, predictive energy management, and vehicle connectivity. It also facilitates the evaluation of AI-driven and data-centric approaches for intelligent transportation […]

EEB 1

The objectives behind the generation of the HELECAR-D dataset are two folds. First, the collection of EV dataset in the Moroccan context in order to establish driving cycles for being used to test and assess related approaches and applications (e.g., rerouting, stations placement and charging requests management). It could be also used to enable the development and the calibration of machine […]

H. Elouadoud

Mrs Houda Elouadoud defended on 19th December 2025 her PhD thesis entitled “A Contribution Towards a Holistic Control Approach for Energy Management in Distributed DC Microgrid Systems”.  Houda’s research work was conducted under the MGFARM project, which is funded by “Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur, de la Recherche Scientifique et de l’Innovation, MESRSI” under the LEAP-RE program (Project no: 963530, 2022-2026).  Her […]

S. NOUFEL

Mr Saad Noufel defended on 18th December 2025 his PhD thesis entitled “A Contribution towards Real-Time Series Forecasting for Smart Systems“.  Saad’s research work addresses the challenge of time series forecasting for internet of things environments. The proposed framework was validated with real-time experiments specifically for resource-constrained environments. Saad’s thesis was directed by Nadir Maaroufi (UIR), co-directed by Mehdi Najib (UIR), and co-advised by Mohamed Bakhouya (UIR).
