EEBLab2 has been deployed as an experimental smart building platform, similar to EEBLab1, for the development and validation of advanced energy management strategies. Unlike EEBLab1, EEBLab2 is primarily powered by solar photovoltaic systems incorporating different panel technologies, including monocrystalline and polycrystalline modules, enabling comparative performance evaluation under real operating conditions.
The platform is also connected to the electrical grid and integrates inverter-based power conversion, battery energy storage systems, and an intelligent energy management system to ensure reliable operation, maximize self-consumption, and facilitate seamless integration of renewable energy sources.
