AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The EEBLab platform was deployed as a Living Lab to support the design, implementation, and validation of innovative solutions in three key application areas:
- ▸Smart and energy-efficient buildings: focuses on intelligent energy management, occupant comfort, and sustainability.
- ▸Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and electro-mobility: enables the integration of connected transportation, electric vehicles, and smart charging infrastructures.
- ▸Smart farming toward the energy-water-agriculture nexus: promotes the efficient management of energy and water resources through digital technologies, precision agriculture, and AI-driven decision support towards smart farming.
The Living Lab provides a real-world experimental environment for collaboratively developing, testing, and evaluating approaches under real-sitting scenarios.
Smart Building
Two experimental test sites, EEBLab1 and EEBLab2, investigating energy-efficient approaches and technologies for smart buildings.
Smart Agriculture
A small-scale IoT–AI–blockchain platform enabling smart irrigation and decentralized, trustworthy water management.
Smart Transportation
A Renault Twizy electric vehicle instrumented as an experimental platform for sustainable electro-mobility research.
